Dear Friend, On May 30, 2009, I will be walking in Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis, the nation’s largest event dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseases. I have joined the team Sajak, and will be raising money for crucial research that wouldn’t even have been possible a few short years ago. My personal goal is to raise more than $500 for this worthy cause. More than 1.4 million patients across the country suffer from these painful and unpredictable diseases. Beyond raising money for research, Take Steps brings together the community in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Participants are encouraged to make noise and be heard -- raising awareness of these little-known diseases in their community and across the nation. You can support my efforts by making a tax-deductible contribution to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation:
Donate online at: http://online.ccfa.org/site/TR/Walk/Chapter-MarylandSouthernDelaware?px=1337162&pg=personal&fr_id=1201&s_tafId=1577\ -or - Mail a check (payable to “CCFA”) to: CCFA Fundraiser, c/o Beth Burgess, 10813 Bellehaven Blvd, Damascus, MD 20872 If you would like to do more, you can also join our team and set a fundraising goal for yourself. Beth Burgess is an avid swimmer, and enjoys the outdoors. She reads, writes, sings and even blogs once in a while.
A history buff, she can keep up with your ideological notions...and give you a taste of her insights, as well.
This website, while still under construction, is meant to be a collaborative blog open to all Crohn's sufferers, family members and friends. Feel free to post, add comments, or contact me at crohnssupport@live.com to add you the the list of blog authors.
I know something of this sort would help me...I hope it can serve as a supportive environment to check your pride in at the door and share openly every "crappy" detail.
